About EcoStatAI

EcoStatAI brings ecological research and statistical analysis tools together in a desktop application. It is intended to help users prepare ecological datasets, conduct analyses, and interpret results for research and educational work.

Designed for ecological research

Use the available research modules for supported ecological analyses. Results depend on the quality of the input data, appropriate analytical choices, and the assumptions of each statistical method. Researchers remain responsible for validating and interpreting their results.

Features

EcoStatAI provides a collection of tools for ecological data preparation and analysis. Available modules depend on the installed release.

Data Preparation

Prepare and inspect datasets before conducting statistical analyses.

Community Analysis

Access supported community ecology methods, including PERMANOVA, ANOSIM, Mantel, and SIMPER analyses.

Ecological Diversity

Explore supported ecological diversity and community data analysis tools.

Visual Outputs

Produce supported graphical outputs to help explore and communicate ecological findings.

Research Workflow

Work with ecological datasets in a desktop research environment.

Academic Applications

Support teaching, student projects, ecological research, and data exploration.

Sample Data and System Requirements

Before downloading, check that your ecological dataset is organized for the analysis you intend to run. The exact requirements can differ between analysis modules.

Excel data structure

  • Prepare the dataset in an Excel workbook.
  • The first column heading must be exactly Site (capital S).
  • Put one site or sampling unit in each row, with its identifier in the Site column.
  • Use the remaining columns for species or variables, with a clear heading for each column.
  • Enter numeric observations where the selected analysis requires numeric data. Use the measure required by that analysis (for example, abundance or IVI where appropriate); do not assume every measure is accepted by every module.
  • Use zero only when the value is genuinely zero. Do not replace unknown or missing values with zero unless the analysis instructions explicitly require it.
  • Keep units and measurement methods consistent within each variable, and remove unrelated notes, merged cells, and extra title rows from the data table.

Download an Excel example

Use this workbook to see the basic table structure. Its values are illustrative only; replace them with your own data and confirm that your chosen analysis accepts the selected measurement.

Illustrative table layout

This is a structural example only. Select variables and measurements that match the analysis you want to perform.

The table above illustrates the layout, not a guarantee that these example values are suitable for every analysis. Check the instructions for the selected module.

Windows system requirements

  • A compatible Windows computer.
  • Sufficient disk space for installation and your datasets.
  • Appropriate ecological data prepared for the selected analysis.

Specific performance requirements depend on dataset size and the analysis performed.

Important: online checkout, email delivery, protected installer storage, and in-app activation must all be configured and tested before this workflow can be considered live. A category selection or checkout redirect alone is not proof of payment or licence activation.

Read the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Notice before requesting a key or purchasing a licence.

Download Security and SHA-256 Verification

A SHA-256 checksum helps you check whether a downloaded file matches the published file. It does not digitally identify the publisher and does not make an unsigned installer signed.

Published SHA-256 checksums

Planned licensed installer — EcoStatAI-setupAI-v1.0.0-Licensed.exe

Pre-release status: the integrated Windows installer has not yet been built. Its SHA-256 checksum will be published only after the final installer is built, independently verified, and frozen. Do not use the legacy installer's checksum to verify the future licensed installer.

Licence kit — EcoStatAI-Licence-Management-Kit.zip

BA35FAC85B966B52B957D90A3DB624DBEA399A48E4683A4329B1C4B21A3E1199

How to verify on Windows

  1. Download the file from the official EcoStatAI download page and save it in your Windows Downloads folder.
  2. Open the Start menu, search for Windows PowerShell, and open it. You do not need to download or create a separate PowerShell file.
  3. Enter this command and press Enter to move to your Downloads folder:
    Set-Location "$env:USERPROFILE\Downloads"
  4. For the installer, run:
    Get-FileHash ".\EcoStatAI-setupAI-v1.0.0-Licensed.exe" -Algorithm SHA256
  5. For the licence kit, run:
    Get-FileHash ".\EcoStatAI-Licence-Management-Kit.zip" -Algorithm SHA256
  6. Compare the long value shown in the Hash column with the matching published checksum above. It must match exactly. If the file is stored in a different folder, change to that folder first or use its full file path.
If the checksum does not match: do not run or distribute that file. Delete the mismatched download and obtain a fresh copy from the official website, then verify it again. If it still differs, contact the developer before using it.

How signed and unsigned installers differ

  • Signed installer: Windows should show a valid digital signature and publisher identity. In File Explorer, right-click the installer, choose Properties, and look for a Digital Signatures tab; inspect the signature details and confirm Windows reports the signature as valid.
  • Unsigned installer: there is no publisher signature for Windows to validate, so Windows may show an unknown-publisher warning. The absence of a signature does not alone prove malware, but it means publisher identity is not verified by a code-signing certificate.

Pre-release status: the legacy installer EcoStatAI-setupAI-v1.0.0.exe is unsigned and does not enforce the new licensing workflow. The planned installer EcoStatAI-setupAI-v1.0.0-Licensed.exe has not yet been built. After it is built, check it with Get-AuthenticodeSignature ".\EcoStatAI-setupAI-v1.0.0-Licensed.exe". Do not describe the new installer as signed unless Windows confirms a valid signature.

A matching SHA-256 checksum confirms the downloaded bytes match the published checksum; it does not prove the publisher's identity or replace a digital signature.

Developer and Ownership

EcoStatAI is proprietary software. Its source code, application, name, and associated materials are not offered as open-source software unless the developer expressly states otherwise in writing.
